Mouse Spinal Cord Compression Injury Ameliorated by Aeolus Catalytic Antioxidant

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aeolus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AOLS - News) announced that its catalytic antioxidant, AEOL 10150, demonstrated sustained benefit in a mouse model of spinal cord compression injury. These data were published by Drs. Sheng, Spasojevic, Warner and Batinic-Haberle at Duke University Medical Center in today's issue of the journal Neuroscience Letters. The work was supported by the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, The Paralyzed Veterans of America and the National Institutes of Health. These preclinical spinal cord injury results, when combined with previously reported results demonstrating benefit from Aeolus compounds in preclinical models of stroke and ALS, support the investigation of Aeolus compounds in a range of neurodegenerative conditions.
